Dr. Megan Jordan (aka Dr. Meg) is a Southern, self-taught artist who operates at the intersection of art, social justice, and research in Nashville, TN. With a PhD in Sociology from Vanderbilt University, Dr. Meg is a National Award-Winning multidisciplinary artist, community organizer, and researcher. Her creative practice centers on whimsy, imagination, well-being, and the interconnectedness of all people, weaving these elements together to explore themes of justice, healing, and collective action.
Dr. Meg uses art as a tool to tell stories that engage communities in collective problem-solving, and her work is deeply rooted in the belief that creativity can drive social change. She has exhibited her artwork at notable venues, including the United Nations COP27 in Egypt, the Nashville International Airport (BNA), the National Museum of African American Music (NMAAM), Black Lives Matter Nashville (2020), and Planned Parenthood of Tennessee (2021), among others. Her work seeks to respond to this precarious moment in time, spotlighting stories of hope and resilience while making art accessible to all.
